![]() Balancing actHere we go!
School started (for my kids, at least) on Wednesday. That means, at two o'clock every week day, you can catch me over at the school, picking them up.
In addition to school starting, my daughter has fall softball. Mondays through Thursdays, she'll be at our neighborhood field, practicing for an hour and a half. I was happy to see a lot of girls from her spring team there, including some of our B-town girls. There may be a tournament or something later down the line, but for right now, she's getting plenty of exercise and hanging out with a great bunch of girls and her coaches from spring softball, whom I was thrilled to see are running the clinic. These coaches are awesome and I can't say enough about them. If you want your daughter to kick butt at softball, show up at the Kings Creek fields at 6 p.m. How awesome is it that these people have committed so much time for the next two months? Also, Scouts will be starting soon. This is exciting for us, because my daughter will be a Junior Girl Scout this year and start working on her Bronze Award project. The Girl Scouts have Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards -- the Girl Scout Gold Award is the equivalent of the Eagle Scout. Speaking of Eagle Scouts, I'm hoping to have my son in Burgettstown's Cub Scout Pack this year. I think they meet at 6 p.m. Mondays at the Kids Center. This will be his first year for Scouts, and after so many years tagging along to big sister's GS meetings, he's excited to be part of his own group. I hear tell of an awesome October activity -- I'm sure more information will be available later, but keep watching for it here on my blog and in the Focus! Scout parents from other troops, I'd love for you to send me information or give me a call about what your troops are doing -- I love to include positive news about our kids in the paper.
